Surveillance Footage Clears 2 Men In Bus Stop Killing
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Surveillance footage has cleared two men in the killing of a 25-year-old Shock Trauma employee last fall.
According to WJZ media partner The Baltimore Sun, city prosecutors dropped the charges against Antwon Morton and Samuel Rogers in the killing of Brandon Finney after they saw surveillance footage that place Morton elsewhere.
Police said that Finney was used as a human shield at a bus stop during a gang-related shooting.
Another man, who police said was the intended target 20-year-old Christopher Camphor, was also killed.
Morton's attorney told the Sun he had turned in the same surveillance footage to prosecutors early on, but that they ignored it.
But Deputy Chief State's Attorney Tammy Brown said, "While we can't comment on the details of the pending case, the allegation that we were presented with exculpatory evidence and ignored it is false. The reason the charges were dismissed is a direct result of the investigation that we undertook to corroborate the evidence."
