State Police K9 Named In Honor Of Harford Co. Deputy Patrick Dailey

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The newest member of the Maryland State Police has some big shoes to fill.

K9 Trooper Dailey is in training, the state police announced earlier this week.

The bloodhound puppy was named in honor of slain Harford County Deputy Patrick Dailey, the sheriff's office confirmed Thursday.

Even though he's in training mode, Dailey's already making new friends around the state.

Sgt. Dailey was killed in a shootout at an Abingdon Panera Bread earlier this month. He was laid to rest just last week.

The state police will hold a press conference Monday to formally introduce Dailey.
