Plane Loses Power, Crashes In Carroll County

TANEYTOWN, Md. (WJZ) -- One man was injured after his ultralight plane crashed near his home in Carroll County on Friday.

It happened at the victim's home located in the  3200 block of Jump Station Road.

According to Maryland State Police, 66-year-old Ronald Bonnette of Taneytown was taking off from his grass strip Friday morning when his aircraft suddenly lost power.

Police say Bonnette descended and landed hard on the landing hear.

Bonnette was transported following the incident. No one else was injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
