Sports Rehab: 2014 AL Manager Of The Year Buck Showalter

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter joined Bob and Glenn to discuss being named Manager of the Year for the 3rd time and the Orioles offseason.

Buck Showalter was named American League Manager of the Year on Tuesday night for the 3rd time in his career after leading the Orioles to a 96-66 record and the teams first AL East division title since 1997. The O's got to the ALCS before falling to the upstart Kansas City Royals.

When asked about the competition, Buck said, "I didn't look at it as a competition. You make a big mistake when you try to manage against other managers. It's about the players." Showalter was also asked about being in alignment with ownership and the availability of funds for players, Buck said that, "[The checkbook] has already been open. It's been very supportive and solid."
