Southwest Flight Returns To BWI Due To Possible Bird Strike

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A Southwest flight departing BWI had to turn around this morning after suspecting a possible bird strike.

In a statement released to WJZ, Southwest officials say, "Out of an abundance of caution, the pilots of Southwest flight 484 from Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) to Providence T.F. Green Airport (PVD) elected to return the aircraft to BWI after suspecting a potential bird strike."

Officials say the plane returned to BWI safely and was swapped for a different aircraft which arrived at T. F. Green Airport (PVD) at 10:09 p.m

"Safety is always our top priority at Southwest Airlines," officials said.
