Snow Delays Semester's Start At Most Maryland Universities

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- Most of Maryland's public universities say they're delaying the start of spring-semester classes as they dig out from a major weekend snowstorm.

Classes were to have begun Monday across the system. But at least 10 of the 12 campuses, including the flagship University of Maryland at College Park, canceled Monday classes.

The College Park campus website says classes there will begin Wednesday. Classes will also start Wednesday at Frostburg State, Salisbury University, Towson University and the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.

Other schools in the system did not say when they expect classes to start.
