Snapchat Self-Destruct: Police Nab Oversharing Theft Suspect

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — Police in Ocean City say they arrested a man who allegedly stole a car after he posted videos of the theft and where he would be on Snapchat.

The department said in a news release that on Saturday morning, officers were called to Seacrets nightclub after a Jeep Wrangler was stolen. Investigators quickly found the car at a nearby condominium building, but had no information on a suspect.

Detectives say they developed information that a suspect had posted videos of the theft and the car driving erratically on the town's main drag. Police say the suspect's Snapchat story also indicated that he would be at Seacrets Saturday night.

Police arrested 24-year-old Brian Engelmann of Mastic Beach, New York. He is charged with negligent driving and numerous other traffic offenses.
