Small Plane Crashes In Prince George's County

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- A small plane crashed in Prince George's County Thursday evening, according to officials.

The plane landed in a wooded area near Church Road and Fairview Vista Road in Bowie around 6:20 p.m.

Maryland State Police say 72-year-old Michael Paul Pillsbury was flying to Freeway Airport in Bowie from Ocean City when he hit a tree he couldn't see because there was no lighting.

Pillsbury was found in his plane upside down in the trees.

He was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
