Slaying Of 22-Year-Old Man Is 106th Homicide In DC In 2015

WASHINGTON (AP) -- District of Columbia police say a 22-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in northeast Washington.

The slaying of Davon Wade was the 106th homicide in the nation's capital this year. That's one more than in all of 2014. Homicides have increased by more than 40 percent over the same time last year.

Wade was shot late Friday night in the Langdon neighborhood along with two other men. All three were taken to hospitals, one of them in a private vehicle. The other men were admitted with serious injuries, while Wade died at the hospital.

Police haven't released any further details about the circumstances of the shooting or a possible motive.
