Skeletal Remains Found In Marsh Run In Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office says skeletal remains have been found in a tributary of Antietam Creek.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Carly Hose says a person hunting for mushrooms in a heavily wooded area near Loose Lane in Hagerstown on Sunday found the remains partially submerged in Marsh Run. Authorities say the discovery is being treated as suspicious until they have more information.

The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy and identification.
