Steve Davis: Should Marvin Lewis Be Fired?

I would say no.

I know that everyone is calling for his head, and I think he has plenty of responsibility for the loss.

But, I don't know how you fire a coach that gets you to the playoffs every year.

I get it, he has never won, and that's a problem.

That said, ask them in Jacksonville or Oakland or Buffalo if they would be happy to go to the playoffs every year.

Cincinnati is a tough place to be head coach because of ownership. Marvin Lewis has figured out how to have success in that situation.

If I was Mike Brown, I am not firing Marvin Lewis because I may not find anyone close to what he is.

However, Marvin needs to figure out how to control these guys or convince the owner to stop bringing them in.
