Shoplitfter Who Pepper Sprayed Workers Sentenced

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A woman who pepper sprayed two people while shoplifting boots from a store has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Twenty-five-year-old Cierra Scott of Brooklyn Park pleaded guilty to robbery and reckless endangerment. The Capital of Annapolis reports that she was sentenced Tuesday in Circuit Court in Annapolis.

Prosecutors say on Jan. 12, Scott tried to steal a pair of boots from Off Broadway Shoes in Arundel Mills Mall. Authorities say when a manager confronted Scott outside of the store, she pepper sprayed him and threatened him with a knife.

Prosecutors say a loss prevention officer encountered Scott outside the mall, and she sprayed him as well.
