Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week To Begin August 9

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week is right around the corner.

Shoppers can start enjoying the savings Sunday, August 9 through Saturday, August 15.

Clothes and shoes will be exempt from the State's six percent sales tax. The first $40 of any backpack is also tax free.

Although this is usually associated with back-to-school shopping, the State Comptroller Peter Franchot is reminding shoppers anyone can enjoy.
