Shooting Threat Posted On Social Media Shuts Down The Charles Theatre

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A shooting threat shuts down a popular independent movie theater in Baltimore.

The Charles Theatre was evacuated around 1 p.m. Saturday after a threat came in on Twitter, claiming a shooting would take place inside a showing of a Black Panthers documentary.

Police tell our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, that officers are investigating the threat and have increased patrols around the movie theater.

All screenings of all movies at the Charles were canceled for the remainder of the day.

The director of the documentary was to participate in a Q&A with moviegoers after the showing.
