Sherriff's Office Won't Release Deputies' Names In Shooting
BEL AIR, Md. (AP) -- The Harford County sheriff's office will not release the names of three deputies involved in the fatal shooting of an Army staff sergeant during a standoff.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the department withholds names of deputies assigned to the agency's Special Response Team, the unit involved in the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Travis Boyd Bradley in Bel Air earlier in the month.
Capt. Carl Brooks, commander of the Special Operations Division, says that naming the deputies who shot and killed Bradley would be unfair. He says that all team members play a role during responses and naming deputies could degrade the cohesiveness of the unit.

Authorities say that Bradley had exited the Bel Air home after hours of negotiations and made motions that led deputies to believe he was armed, prompting the shooting.
