Sheriff's Office Says It'll Handle Reports Of Traps At Trail

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County officials have discussed the recent discovery of two razor blade traps along a recreational trail.

The Frederick News-Post reports the county law enforcement agency and police department met Thursday.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Deputy 1st Class Amanda Hatcher says that their office will handle any new reports of traps at the watershed property.  The watershed is under the county's jurisdiction, though the city of Frederick owns the property.

Frederick resident R.J. Stone told the newspaper that he found two of the homemade devices Monday on a trail.

Signs posted in the watershed tell users to call the sheriff's office about violations or suspicious activity.

Frederick Alderwoman Kelly Russell says those who find traps should notify the sheriff's office.

There have been no suspects in connection with Monday's traps.
