"Shaping Sound" Comes To The Hippodrome

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The nation's biggest names in dancing are in Baltimore for a new performance called "Shaping Sound" at the Hippodrome.

Have you heard of Travis Wall? He's here and showed Mary Bubala some of his amazing moves Monday.

The hottest dance stars practice their electrifying moves for a new show called "Shaping Sound." Fans of "So You Think You Can Dance" will immediately recognize Wall, a dancer and breakthrough choreographer. He and the three other dancers who founded the dance company take a break from rehearsals to talk about the show.

"We've taken all of our experiences and we're kind of like, `What are we good at?' and any type of music you throw at us, that's how we choreograph to it. That's why there is a huge mash up of a lot of different styles, songs and genres," Wall said.

Modern, jazz, swing, ballroom---audiences see it all in Shaping Sound." Usually, they are surprised by what they feel.

"When the dads come out of the theater and they are like, `Oh my God, that was amazing,' and I was like, `So you liked it? You didn't fall asleep?' `No, I loved it,'" said Kyle Robinson.

The show will inspire the next generation of dancers and some of the older generation may feel inspired.

"Shaping Sound" is at the Hippodrome Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available.
