Sex Offender Pleads Guilty To Possessing Child Porn

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A man twice convicted of sex offenses has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Seventy-one-year-old William Sylvia of Hagerstown entered the plea Friday in federal court in Baltimore.

According to his plea agreement, from April 2013 through July 2014, Sylvia used a computer to send, receive and collect child pornography.

After the motel room where he lived was raided by law enforcers, prosecutors say child porn images were found on a flash drive and a desktop computer.

Authorities say Sylvia was convicted of raping a child in Massachusetts in 1995. In 2004 in West Virginia, Sylvia was convicted of sexual abuse by a parent, custodian or guardian.

Sentencing is set for Jan. 29.
