Sewer Overflow Spews 10,000 Gallons Of Wastewater In Stream

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Public works officials say more than 10,000 gallons of wastewater have flowed into a Baltimore stream after a sewer became clogged.

The blockage in a 21-inch sanitary sewer mainline apparently started the overflow on Tuesday into the Herring Run Stream in northeast Baltimore, according to a news release from the Department of Public Works.

The department is working to stop the overflow. Warning signs have been posted along the stream.
