Sewage Backups Continue To Create Problems In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Sewage problems are continuing to create problems in Baltimore.

Public Works officials responded to nearly 5,000 reports of sewage backing up in Baltimore homes last year.

According to our media partner, the Baltimore Sun, those sewage backups would occur a dozen times a day on average.

They say the problem got worse in 2002 after the city stopped the relief system of chronic sewage going into the Inner Harbor and the Chesapeake Bay.
