Several People Injured From Serious Accident Along Rt. 4 South

LOTHIAN, Md. (WJZ) — Several people are trapped after an accident in Anne Arundel County on Friday.

Anne Arundel County Fire has confirmed both AACO Fire and Calvert Co Fire are working a serious accident resulting from a collision involving two cars on southbound Rt. 4  and Lower Pindell Road.

AACO Fire confirms there are several people trapped, including three pediatric patients.

Three children were in one of the cars and all three were injured, officials said.

The children were flown to Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C.

A 4-year-old and a 14-year-old are in serious, but not life-threatening, condition and an 8-year-old is in critical condition, officials confirmed.

The road in the area has reopened as of 7:45 p.m.
