Secret Trick To Getting Rid Of Plowed Snow

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It's no secret anymore!

We all know how hard it is to remove all that snow, especially when it's compacted into a thick wall on the end of your driveway.

WJZ's Mike Schuh uses a "layercake" or "stairstep" method to remove what may seem impossible.

"The easiest way to get this heavy, thick plowed snow out of the way is to treat it like a layercake and to chop all your sections into square sections, and then just lift up one shovel full at a time, and it's actually pretty easy," he says.

In the video above, Schuh demonstrates how the method effectively gets rid of that troublesome snow -- with less back pain involved.

"So you define the edges of where you want to shovel and then you just lift it out and you're not straining yourself, but you are getting a lot of work done and it's very methodical," he explains. "And the thing about having a method like this is, you don't really have to think about what's next. You're just going, chopping, moving."

In just a few minutes, Schuh was able to carve out a large chunk of the plowed wall.
