Searchers Return To Potomac To Look For Missing Swimmer

POTOMAC, Md. (AP) -- Search teams are returning to the Potomac River to look for a missing swimmer.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer says the rescuers were called to the area just south of Great Falls on Wednesday afternoon for reports of swimmers in the water. He says one swimmer was able to get to shore, but a second is missing.

Swimming or entering the water without a boat is prohibited in the area.

Searchers are expected to return to the river on Thursday morning.
