Search Continues For Baltimore Gunman Who Shot 5

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An intense search is underway in the city for the person responsible for shooting five people in broad daylight.

Police believe at least one of the victims was targeted.

Detectives say a lone gunman approached the corner of Penrose and N. Payton and opened fire before taking off on foot. It happened just a block away from an elementary school that had recently dismissed students.

Tuesday's violence comes just four days after one person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting at a strip mall parking lot on Reisterstown Road.

Police say the victims in Tuesday's shooting were shot in their lower bodies and have non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still searching for a suspect and a motive in the shooting. Anyone with information can call Metro CrimeStoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP.

Amy Yensi will have more on this story at 5 and 6 p.m.
