School Closed For The Day After Deer Being Chased By Dogs Break In

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- A school in Anne Arundel County was closed Monday after deer cause damage inside the school.

Police say the deer were being chased by dogs when they smashed into Southern Middle School over the weekend.

Officers were initially called to the school for a burglary alarm when they found the animals.

The deer had to be euthanized because of their injuries.

The owners of the dogs were located. The dogs are in the custody of Animal Control.

Several thousand dollars in damage was caused in the school.
