10 Elmwood Elementary Students Injured After School Bus Crash

OVERLEA, Md. (WJZ) -- Baltimore County police are investigating a school bus accident near Overlea High School Wednesday morning.

According to county fire and police officials, the school bus accident occurred around 8:55 a.m. in the 5700 block of Kenwood Avenue near North Lane.

When officers arrived they found a Baltimore County school bus that had collided with a Chevrolet minivan. The students were headed to Elmwood Elementary.

The bus was traveling southbound on Kenwood Avenue and pulled a little right to make a left turn. The minivan, which was following the bus down Kenwood Avenue, attempted to pass the bus on the left, but struck the bus as it was turning.

Ten students are being transported to Franklin Square. Their injuries are minor, according to officials.

The driver of the minivan was not injured.
