EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Freshman De'Von Barnett fired off the Sacred Heart bench to score a career-high 22 points to lead the Pioneers to their second Northeast Conference victory, upsetting Mount St. Mary's, 72-65 Thursday night.

Sacred Heart, snapping a 12-game losing streak, came into the game shooting an NEC worst 40.8 percent, but caught fire against the Mount, shooting 58 percent on 29 of 50 shooting from the field. Leading scorer Louis Montes, who averaged 13.5 points per game coming in, scored just a single point.

Barnett connected on 11 of 15 shots from the field in leading the Pioneers (5-25, 2-13 NEC). Evan Kelley added 16 points off the bench.

Julian Norfleet scored 17 points to lead Mount St. Mary's (12-16, 8-7), which would have clinched a home game in the first round of the conference tournament with a victory. The Mount plays its final home game Saturday against St. Francis.
