Russ Lande On Potential Targets For The Ravens In The NFL Draft

Russ Lande is the GM of Jr Scouting, the college scouting director for the Montreal Alouettes, a member of the Big Ten Network, and a former NFL scout.

Russ joined Ed and Steve to talk about the NFL draft and certain players the Ravens should be targeting.

Steve asked Russ about his take on how the Ravens should handle Joe Flacco's contract after this season. Russ noted that the Ravens should expect to give Joe a pay raise, "the important lesson is when the contract expires or when you want to renegotiate, you have to be ready to pay more than the market value. The ravens are most likely to pay more than they may want to but that's what they are going to have to do."

Ed asked Russ about his thoughts on how the Browns have handled the recent news surrounding quarterback Johnny Manziel. Russ doesn't believe that Browns made the right decision in demoting Manziel saying, "I think its a mistake to do that because you need to find out what he is. It doesn't shock me. He was known by most accounts that he hadn't quite matured yet since leaving college, but he never had the reputation of being a guy that continued to get in trouble."

Russ went on to discuss what the Ravens draft strategy might be in the 2016 NFL Draft, which college prospects the Ravens might target at the top of the draft, and his thoughts on the job Ozzie Newsome has done over the past few years in evaluating talent.
