Royal Farms Arena Named Top-Grossing Venue In U.S.

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Royal Farms Arena has planned an impressive concert lineup for it's upcoming 2016 season, but it seems like 2015 wasn't too bad in the box office.

The venue ranks first in the U.S. in gross ticket sales among venues its size this year, according to Billboard Magazine.

This year, Royal Farms Arena was host to concerts by Prince, Motley Crue, the Eagles, Stevie Wonder and more. The venue can seat 14,000 and grossed over $16.8 million this year with over 80 concerts between Nov. 12, 2014, and Nov. 9, 2015.

The honor comes as the arena is anticipating one of its best music lineups in years. The 2016 schedule includes concerts by Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Janet Jackson, Maroon 5 and more.
