Ron Borges Previews Patriots-Chiefs Matchup

Ron Borges with the Boston Herald joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to help preview this Saturday's Patriots-Chiefs game.

Injuries have ravaged the Patriots team throughout the 2015 season. Key weapon Rob Gronkowski has missed two practices this week with a knee injury and is still unclear whether or not he will play. Ron talked about how Gronk hasn't looked the same this season since that knee injury, "his performance has gotten worse each week since he came back from his knee injury and the fact of the matter is he's just not healthy. In the Miami game they covered him one-on-one with a linebacker and he couldn't get open. That's not like Gronk."

The Chiefs have quietly won 11 straight games including the playoffs heading into this matchup. Ron explained the strengths on their team that have helped them make it to this point and what kind of team they remind him of. "They remind me of the 2001 New England Patriots who beat the Rams in that Super Bowl. They have a game managing quarterback who doesn't make mistakes generally speaking. They have a defense that can get after the quarterback and cause turnovers. They can run the ball a bit, which the Patriots could do in those days, and they have just enough pass catchers although a lot of that is reduced if Jeremy Maclin can't play or is really badly affected by that sprained ankle but that is who they remind me of."
