Robbery Suspect Identified From Facebook Photo

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County police say they have charged a man with armed robbery after the victim recognized him from his Facebook photo.

Police say the victim had arranged through Facebook and other online communications to meet with a man to buy two pairs of shoes.

Officers say the two met about 11 p.m. Monday in Glen Burnie. The victim told police the man displayed a handgun and took cash from him.

Police say the robber fled in a waiting car. The victim said the robber was the same person whose picture is listed on the Facebook page.

Police say they identified the man using motor vehicle and arrest photos.

Rickey Arness Gordon, 22, of Glen Burnie was arrested Tuesday. He is charged with armed robbery, assault and other offenses.
