Rob Long: Ravens Pick Stanley Over Tunsil

With the sixth pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the Baltimore Ravens selected offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley out of Notre Dame. While many thought if the Ravens were to take an offensive tackle, that player would be Laremy Tunsil out of Ole Miss, moments before the draft, video footage of Tunsil smoking from a bong with a gas mask surfaced on the internet causing some panic.

Whether or not this video had anything to do with the team's choice is in question, but the team says Stanley was the highest rated player on their board at that time. Stanley was a consensus All-American in 2015 for the Irish.

With this pick the Ravens have the flexibility to either trade Eugene Monroe or play Stanley at the right tackle position.
