Rob Long: Ravens-Buccaneers Preview

In case you missed it, the National Football League is quickly approaching the midway point. With the Baltimore Orioles preparing for the Kansas City Royals and the American League Championship Series, football has taken an uncharacteristic backseat in the Charm City. Even on Purple Friday, much of the city is going either all orange, or compromising with an orange/purple combination. I'm personally loving the confusion. I hope to be confused this time of the year every year.

The Baltimore Ravens head to Tampa to take on the Bucs after a 20-13 loss to the Indy Colts last Sunday. This is their second straight game on the road and the team is looking to avoid their first two game losing streak since weeks 16 and 17 of last year against the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens gave up an average of over 37 points in that two game losing streak. Their defense is a tad bit better this year. Okay, it's much better this year thanks to a rookie named C.J. Mosley.

The Ravens stop the bleeding in the heat this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. The Bucs are a bad football team and the Ravens are not. It's that simple. Is it automatic that bad teams lose to good team? Not in the NFL, but the Ravens will handle business to go to 4-2.
