Roadwork This Weekend Along SB I-97 Likely To Affect Beach Traffic

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) -- Some roadwork this weekend along Interstate 97 will likely affect beach traffic.

According to the Maryland State Highway Administration, two lanes of southbound I-97 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Crews will be patching concrete from Quarterfield Road to New Cut Road.

The closures could also have an impact on the Monday morning commute.

Highway officials recommend using Route 2 Ritchie Highway or 295 to Route 32 as alternatives.
