Rider of ATV Dies After Striking Tree in Frederick County

ROCKY RIDGE, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating the death of an all-terrain vehicle rider after the ATV hit a tree near the unincorporated community of Rocky Ridge.

Cpl. Amanda Ensor says the crash occurred Friday night.

Ensor said Monday that the victim's next-of-kin are apparently out of the country and have not been notified.
