Rickard Placed on 15-Day DL With Thumb Ligament Injury
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The Baltimore Orioles have recalled Dariel Alvarez from Triple A Norfolk and placed OF Joey Rickard on the 15-day disabled listed with a right thumb ligament injury.
27-year-old Álvarez, batted .280/.315/.382 (104-for-372) with 26 doubles, four home runs, 34 runs scored, and 40 RBI over 93 games this season with Triple-A Norfolk.
He walked in his only plate appearance for the Orioles this season. Álvarez hit .7-for-29 over 12 games for the Orioles in 2015.
