Reports Of Shots Fired Near UMD College Park Campus, Man Seen By Witness No Longer In Area, Police Say
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) -- Police are investigating reports of shots fired near the University of Maryland College Park campus.
According to UMD Police, the shots were fired off-campus in the 4800 block of Berwyn House Road. A witness said they saw a white man around 6'0" with brown hair and thin build. He was wearing a purple or blue shirt and khaki pants. They said he was seen holding a handgun, heading toward the parking lot within the address.
At around 3:50 p.m., police said they searched the area and believe the man is no longer in the area.
