Ben Carson To Skip Debate, Tells Supporters There's 'No Path Forward'

WASHINGTON (WJZ)—Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson will skip a Thursday night debate in Detroit saying " he does not see a "political path forward" in light of Super Tuesday results.

"Along with millions of patriots who have supported my campaign for President, I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations," said Carson. "We must not depart from our goals to restore what God and our Founders intended for this exceptional nation."

Carson, who is not formerly suspending his campaign at this time, is expected to speak on the future of his campaign during a speech set for  Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland.

Carson, who has struggled to make a dent in past primaries, could not break through the barrier on Super Tuesday with Trump and Cruz winning  the majority of the 11 states.

"This grassroots movement on behalf of "We the People" will continue," he says.
