Repairs After Amtrak Accident To Disrupt MARC Train Service

ODENTON, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Transit Administration says repairs after an accident involving an Amtrak rail car will affect MARC Penn Line service this week.

Transit officials say there will be disruptions at MARC's Odenton and Bowie State stations from Monday to Wednesday this week. The Bowie State station will be closed until Wednesday, and the Odenton station will have reduced service for all trains.

MARC's commuter trains have not been stopping at Odenton or Bowie State all weekend.

Amtrak is making emergency repairs on its tracks after an accident Friday night. Amtrak said the rear car of a New York-bound train was damaged after a wheel lost contact with the track in Odenton. No one was injured in the incident.
