Reopening Maryland: Former Gov. Martin O'Malley Named To Prince George's County Forward Task Force

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WJZ) -- Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley was named to the Prince George's County Forward Task Force, to help the county reopen and recover following the coronavirus pandemic.

O'Malley will oversee the government operations subcommittee.

"We've worked to create a task force that is capable of responding to the unique challenges that COVID-19 presents for our community as we reopen in this task force I have to tell you is like no other," said county executive Angela Alsobrooks. "This is a dynamic group that can respond to challenges actually in real-time, and provide high-quality recommendations based on cutting edge data."

"This task force will help us to mend heal and protect our community should COVID-19 strike again," Alsobrooks added.

Reopening Maryland: Prince George's County Will Begin Lifting Coronavirus Restrictions On June 1

Several other local leaders will be a part of the task force as well.
