Ravens LB L.J. Fort Signs 2-Year, $5.5 Million Contract Extension

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Baltimore Ravens want linebacker L.J. Fort to stay on two more years.

The team announced a contract extension with Fort on Friday morning.

Fort has been playing very well since he signed on with the team a few weeks ago. He was recently released by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ian Rapoport said Fort will get $5.5 million in the deal.

At a news conference Friday, Head Coach John Harbaugh said he was happy to hear about the deal, saying the team was excited to have him moving forward.

"He's played well. That's probably what you look at more than anything," Harbaugh said. "He's played well, everything we've asked him to do, he's been out there a lot on defense, different packages and special teams as well. He's just proven to be a good player and a good fit for us."

Fort is expected to stay on with the team through 2021.
