Ravens Kicker Justin Tucker Turns His Talents To Maryland Racing

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—He's quickly become a fan favorite in Baltimore, not only for his work on the gridiron but in the community as well.

Jessica Kartalija explains now Justin Tucker is helping promote Maryland racing, urging fans to get out to Preakness.

Tucker's trick shots inside of Pimlico Race Course are part of a new commercial promoting Preakness.

The Ravens placekicker is a man of many talents: an opera singer, a fashionista and a romantic.

Now he's using those talents to promote Maryland racing and the 139th running of the Preakness Stakes, brushing up on his racing knowledge.

"We had a good time goofing around on the track," Tucker said.

And he's channeling his inner anchorman on a racing show.

"It's fun to do something that's local and promote local stuff that's going on," Tucker said.

Tucker has become a fan favorite in Baltimore and says he's become a fan of Maryland horse racing.

"We had a blast here at the racetrack. From the grandstands to the infield, we kind of got to see it all. It was my first time, not just at Preakness, but at a horse race," Tucker said.

In the commercial, Tucker kicks his way out of Preakness. But of course, it's all in good fun.

"I caused a little too much trouble here at the track today, so the security officer here is escorting me off the premises," he said in the commercial.

But not to worry, he'll be back.

"This is a Baltimore tradition, and that makes it all the sweeter. It's fun to be a part of," Tucker said.

The 139th running of the Preakness Stakes is May 17 at Pimlico.

Lorde will be performing at this year's InfieldFest.
