Ravens Fans Paint Baltimore Purple In Anticipation For Playoffs

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The excitement has been building all through the week and going into the weekend, fans are hoping to see a win Sunday afternoon.

At a Friday Fuel Up, the chalk paint was out as fans lined up to have their cars stenciled with the Ravens logo- with mascot Poe waving them down the line.

"Baltimore Ravens, we're going all the way baby. All the way," A Ravens fan said.

"I'm a huge Ravens supporter and excited for the playoffs. Can't wait for Sunday," said Alex Soutar, a Ravens fan.

This is one of many events this week painting Baltimore with purple pride- and charging up that Ravens energy, as the birds prepare to take on Los Angeles.

There were some Purple Friday events happening around town, including a pep rally at the courthouse in Towson Friday afternoon.

"We were like, this is going on, we're right up the street, let's just go and they got out of school and I just took them there," said Ravens fan, Naomi Cross.

The Ravens Flock, including cheerleaders and Poe got fans young and old excited for gameday.

"It's a purple day," said Ravens fan, Yolanda Harris. "It's purple Friday and I'm out with my girls, purple lady happy hour."

Councilman Julian Jones brought a bit of his own hype, honoring the Ravens with a classic Ray Lewis tradition.

County Executive Johnny Olszewski has a different approach to game day.

"I'll be in section 503 in my PSL's," said Olszewski. "We usually find some friends; grab a cold one before the game."

Whether at the game or watching on TV, these fans will be cheering loud and proud  Sunday afternoon.

"We in it to win it," said Harris. "Baltimore all day. Every year. We're going to the Super Bowl."

The Ravens head into a big game with the whole city at their back.
