Scattered showers give way to colder, windier weather in Maryland this weekend

Clouds will increase through Friday evening as scattered showers arrive Saturday in Maryland

A cloudy and cool Friday evening is underway across central Maryland, including Baltimore. The forecast remains mostly dry through late evening across the metro. You'll want a jacket for plans.

A greater chance of scattered showers arrives Saturday evening, ahead of another temperature change.

Weather will cooperate with Friday evening plans

Temperatures range from the upper 40s in Carroll County, to lower 50s in Baltimore and mid-50s farther south. Temperatures will slowly settle back into the mid and upper 40s through the course of the evening. Despite a cloudy sky, the forecast remains mostly dry. Sprinkles and patchy drizzle are possible. But, plans won't be washed out.

A breeze will make it feel chillier through the evening.

Scattered rain moves through Maryland Saturday evening

Plan on lots of clouds and temperatures climbing through the 50s and into the lower 60s by early evening on Saturday. The majority of Saturday remains dry. An approaching front will spark sparks showers after 3 p.m.

Isolated to widely scattered rain showers will move through during the late afternoon and evening. Showers will move through central and eastern Maryland between 4 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday. Rain may be briefly heavy. A few rumbles of thunder cannot be ruled out.

While brief heavy rain is possible, rainfall totals will be underwhelming. Most communities will receive less than 0.10" of rain. Because rain will be hit-or-miss, some will miss out on needed wet weather altogether.

Rain moves out early Sunday morning.

Colder, gustier weather returns to Baltimore on Sunday

Expect clouds giving way to more sunshine on Sunday.

Temperatures peak in the upper 50s and lower 60s unusually early in the day; around noon. It'll get colder through the afternoon and evening hour as winds increase; gusting up to 40 MPH by early evening.

Temperatures fall into the mid and upper 30s early Monday morning. It'll feel like it's in the 20s, with a gusty breeze. Strong wind gusts continue through Monday afternoon. It'll remain in the 40s all day Monday in many areas. The wind will make it feel like it's in the 30s.

Another brief shot at damp weather on Tuesday

Next week will feature two chances for showers across the state.

The first chance arrives Tuesday, with scattered light rain showers passing through the area. Right now, the greatest chance of rain appears to remain south of Baltimore. Tuesday will be even colder, thanks to all the clouds. Temperatures remain in the 40s Tuesday afternoon.

Another storm system will approach on Thursday. Scattered showers are possible on Thursday, followed by a greater chance of widespread steady rain as the workweek comes to an end. Stay with the WJZ First Alert Weather Team as we fine-tune the forecast.

Have a great evening,

Cutter
