Pro Golfer Bill Hurley's Dad Found Safe In Texas

LEESBURG, Va. (WJZ) -- William Hurley, the father of pro golfer Billy Hurley III, was found safe in Texas, police report Friday.

According to a press release from the Leesburg Police Department,  the 61-year-old William Hurley was "simply traveling."

Hurley had left his Leesburg, Va.-area residence on Sunday, July 19 with some clothes and cash, but didn't tell his wife or children where he was headed.

He was reported missing by his family on July 27.

In a tearful plea, pro golfer Billy Hurley III asked for the public's help Monday.

"My dad took some clothes and he took some cash, he got in his truck and he drove away," said Hurley, of Annapolis. "No one's heard from him since."

William Hurley did not wish to reveal the reasons behind his departure.
