Prisoner Injured In Police Vehicle Crash In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A prisoner was injured in a car accident while being transported in a police vehicle in Baltimore.

Police say the accident occurred just before 4 a.m. on Sunday when the officer, traveling southbound in the 4600 block of Sinclair Lane, struck a Pontiac making a left turn.

Police say the 50-year-old prisoner, who was wearing a seatbelt in the back of the police vehicle, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police say neither the officer nor the driver of the Pontiac was injured in the crash.
