Prince George's Official To Discuss Park And Planning Tax

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker is scheduled to discuss recent approval of a 1.5 cents increase on park and planning taxes.

Baker will talk about the increase at a news conference in Fort Washington on Monday.

The county council approved the increase as part of their fiscal year 2016 budget.

The council passed the increase, saying it's needed to support public recreation projects.

Baker did not include the tax increase for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in his budget proposal.
