Prado Homers And Resurgent Marlins Beat Orioles 5-2

MIAMI (AP) -- Martin Prado homered to cap a 12-pitch at-bat and drove in two runs, helping the Miami Marlins beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-2 Sunday to win a series for the first time since May 3.

Baltimore left-hander Brian Matusz pitched two scoreless innings, a day after he was ejected for having a sticky substance on his non-throwing arm. The Orioles await a decision from Major League Baseball regarding further punishment.

The Marlins won their second game in a row after losing eight straight and finished 2-8 on their homestand, which included a managerial change. New manager Dan Jennings improved to 2-5.

The Orioles fell to 2-13 all-time in Miami. They were making their first visit since 2009.

Tom Koehler (3-3) retired the first 13 batters and allowed one run in 6 1-3 innings. A.J. Ramos pitched a perfect ninth for his second save.

Miguel Gonzalez (5-3) allowed five runs and a career-high 10 hits in four-plus innings.
