Winning Numbers Announced In Powerball Jackpot

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)-- Half a billion dollars, that's the jackpot in tonight's Powerball lottery.

Marcus Washington catches up with millions who are hoping to become a millionaire.

It's the third largest Powerball jackpot in Powerball history and time as ticking and anticipation is building.

It's the sound of possibility.

"And it's been from like since 5:30 in the morning and it hasn't stopped," said Trevor Green, Canton Market.

$500 million possibilities to be exact.

"I don't care if you're a professional athlete or a CEO, that's a lot of money," said one man.

Wednesday's Powerball jackpot stands at $500 million dollars.

"It's half a billion dollars. Put in that perspective."

No matter how you say it... it's a lot of money and a lot of people are paying to take their chances.

"I don't play it often, but when it's up to this amount, sure I'm going to play it."

"I like the people who get all excited and won't buy a ticket until we get to $500 million. It starts at $20 million and I have zero million, so I think it's a good start. I buy one every week," said David Powell.

When the excitement and jackpot is this high, everyone has to play, including myself.

"Well, if you don't play you don't have a chance to win, so sure, why not," Ed Ladwig said.

This is not Powerballs's largest jackpot, in 2012 the amount reached $588 million dollars before someone claimed the prize. In 2013, someone won a whopping $591 million dollar jackpot.

"I'd give two weeks notice...come on now, I like the people I work with," said a Powerball player.

It all rests on a possibility, one many say is worth it all if you win the money.

And the winning numbers are... 25, 11, 54, 13, 39, Powerball = 19

Your odds of winning tonight's Powerball lottery is somewhere around 175 million to 1.

The largest lottery prize in history is $656-million through the Mega Millions lottery.
