Pound Of Heroin Seized From Car On I-95 In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland Transportation Authority Police have arrested three men from South Carolina after more than a pound of heroin was seized from their vehicle during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Baltimore.

Police said in a news release that an officer stopped a speeding car on Sunday. Officers say they found 6,250 pouches of heroin weighing a total of 625 grams, or 1.3 pounds. Authorities estimated the street value of the heroin at more than $62,000.

The driver, 26-year-old Raken Gause of Longs, and passengers 25-year-old Rashawn Gore, 25, of Little River and 23-year-old Jamison Ward of Aynor were charged with several drug offenses.
